2013 'Octa' Wilson Golf Day

On Friday 8th November 28 former players and guests joined together at Box Hill Golf Club for the 9th Annual “Octa” Wilson Classic.

Unfortunately due to very dicey weather about 8 players did not turn up for this event. However those that put up with a little early rain had a most enjoyable day on a beautifully prepared golf course.

It was great to see John Ronaldson, the winner of the first 2 Cups back playing after missing the last couple of events due to ankle surgeries.

Scott Turner came down from Ararat as he always does to try and win his second “Oscar”.

Cameron Clayton the only other dual winner was also there as were Matt Rogers, who donated some of his Bridgestone golf balls as prizes.   Nathan Bower, Roger Dean, Gary Arnold and Mike Perry were others in the field.

Players were given lunch prior the shot gun start and Wayne Campbell drove the drinks cart around not being able to play due to a back injury.

Last year’s winner, Frank Loughran whose company Southern Ceilings sponsored a hole once again came up from Gippsland but could not repeat his performance.

It was a very close contest with 3 players coming in on equal stableford points. Winners decided on a count back were as follows:

Winner Don Davenport 38 points
Runner Up Alan Gaskell 38 points
Third Matt Rogers 38 points
Longest Drive John Ronaldson
Nearest The Pin Barry Cameron 9th Hole
Matt Rogers 17th Hole
NAGA Award Mike Perry

Back To The 90's (Legends Game)

 2017 legends game 640

To all those who represented the Tigers on and off the field in the 90’s, if it wasn’t for your involvement and sacrifice during this decade the Tigers would not exist, let alone survive to be the Club we are today! People rattled money tins along Punt Road, took pay cuts and played for the love of the jumper and teammates.

The Richmond Former Players & Officials are asking you for one more effort. Come and celebrate with us at the Legend’s Cup match day function!

Last year the boys from the 80’s had a great day and now it’s “Back to the ‘90’s”! You won’t regret it! All 1990's U19’s, Reserves, Seniors & Officials and partners are welcome. ALL RFP&OA members are welcome to attend.

It is a free day including entry and seating. There is only one requirement… you must be a financial member of the Richmond Former Players & Officials Assoc.

The day begins at 11.00am at the “G” on Saturday 8th April, which is Round 3 vs West Coast, with a “Legends” game featuring former players and Corporates. If you wish to participate you can download the entry form here... http://www.formertigers.com.au/images/downloads/2017-legends-game.pdf

Following the Legends game there will be a social gathering throughout the afternoon in the Harrison Room at the G with drinks at bar prices.

After the AFL match everyone is invited back to Punt Road for drinks and finger food with the compliments of RFP&OA and RFC.

So, if you haven’t become a member of the Richmond Former Players and Officials Association yet, download the membership form http://www.formertigers.com.au/images/downloads/2017-membership.pdf and return it before 26th March 2017.

Having done that, and you would like to attend the 1990’s Reunion, please advise Leonie Bawden at formerplayers@richmondfc.com.au or 0438 300 001 by close of business 27th March 2017.

Entry & seating tickets will be distributed probably in the week before the Reunion.

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
